From the Inside Out

We were excited to take on this backyard renovation - turning an already fun backyard with a pool, into a personal oasis. The entire project has been divided into 3 phases.

The 1st phase of this project was rearranging the inside of the home around: reconfiguring the kitchen and keeping room, adding a mudroom and wine room AND... a sunroom and back porch addition! For a family who loves the outdoors, the view now faces the backyard. The back porch is now a super inviting space, complete with a tv, two sitting areas and a fireplace that bring the indoors out.

When we took on the 2nd phase, it was fun for us to visualize where we wanted things to go. We could tie in the colors already used in the home and added loungers, dining area and a simple outdoor kitchen.

The 3rd phase will be facelifting the pool itself from what is currently brick and tile, to something that will complement the new stone work.
(Keep this in mind when looking at the 'after' pictures... it's not totally done yet!)

Check out the before and after's below! Our goal was to keep the design simple, clean and functional, while still feeling luxurious and inviting for all those Summer pool parties!

This “Summer Kitchen” is the perfect place for hosting and storage. Having a serving area doesn’t have to include a full kitchen with a sink and appliances - you can keep it simple and unfussy with a custom console like this one.

Essentials: Melamine dishes, storage baskets, a drink dispenser, candles and utensils.

Kitchen console color: Boothbay Gray by Benjamin Moore

New timeless loungers were in order, so we went with some neutral ones that would match with all decor throughout the years and give a resort feel. Putting two loungers side by side with an umbrella in between ensures shade and space to put your belongings… because we know you plan to stay for a while. We also added fun outdoor beanbag style chairs for the kids to tote around and lounge.

In the dining area, we kept things whimsical, romantic and unexpected. We mixed seating- instead of the same chairs all around and added benches to accomodate more people and make it easier for kiddos to enjoy a snack! We made sure to have citronella candles nearby to alleviate the swarm of pesky Georgia mosquitoes!

For a pop of color, we love to set out fresh flowers either from the garden or the local market.

A bar car is the perfect item for extra drinks and storage. It's movable, cute and practical.

These waterproof pool pillows are a great place to sit and dip your toes in the hot tub without nicking the bottom of your bathing suit! For pool floats, we stuck with ones that were similar to the color scheme we already had going on, but obviously ALL pool floats are fun!!!

And the little extra touches make a difference too. Solar outdoor lanterns, folding seating for extra guests, tall lanterns for ambience and extra pool towels. Thanks for reading along!!
